GARDEN
Where does a garden truly end? The most accepted definition of ‘garden’ is a piece of fenced off soil. But when is something an estate and when is it a garden? If you take out part of the pavement in front of your house and fill it up with flowers, is that a garden? It’s not really fenced off, but many Dutch people would argue it’s a garden anyway. And what about the many “gardens” covered with tiles, where soil and plants are a rare sight? Are those gardens too?
